Stories from the Neflental: Show what's inside you!

In the Neflental, there was a time that everyone called the „Glanzhoch“. It was special. The sun stood bright in the sky, and its light shimmered in gold, amber, and coral red. The rivers sparkled as if sparks of fire danced upon them, and in the evening, the inhabitants would gather on the riverbanks.

At the water lily bay, a tranquil arm of Crystal Lake, a new adventure began. The water lily bay lay still, covered in large, green leaves and delicate white blossoms. Beneath the surface of the water, colourful fish swam. Dragonflies with iridescent wings danced in the warm summer air.

One day, the Valley Council announced that a grand festival was to be held on the water. At this „Glimmering High Festival,“ everyone could show what special things they could do or had learned. Many were excited, for each people of the Neflental had their own strengths and hidden talents.

Rosa Immergrün had often heard how beautiful the Waterlily Bay was. But up until now, she had never dared to show her skills there. She always thought: „The others are sure to be better than me.“

But this time Rosa wanted to try something. She remembered all the practice and time she had put into her skills. The thought of simply observing was no longer enough for her. She wanted to contribute something herself. So she thought about how she could make the Shine Festival something truly special.

Rosa Immergrün discovers the power of pride

On the warm festival day, the air shimmered with sunshine gold and sapphire blue. The revellers sat by the water in colourful dresses. Above their heads, lanterns drifted silently like gentle stars. Everywhere there was happy laughter, music, and the scent of flowers.

As evening fell, Rosa stepped forward. At first, her knees trembled a little. But she took a deep breath and looked out over the shimmering lily pond. From the fern forest, she retrieved a bunch of emerald green twigs.

Slowly and with steady hands, she began to lay the most beautiful patterns on the water. The fern leaves floated amongst the water lilies, forming little pictures of light and shadow. Dragonflies landed on them, their wings reflecting in the water. Everyone held their breath, as no one had ever seen anything so magical.

Show what you've got: Dare to try

Rosa Immergrün heard the amazement all around her. Suddenly, she felt how proud she was of what she had achieved. She had overcome her fear and dared to show her talent to the world. She thought: „Everyone can do something special. I found my courage because I believed in myself.“

After her performance, many people came up to Rosa. They wanted to know how she had done it. Rosa explained it to them kindly. Soon, children were crafting their own artworks from fern leaves, and the bay glowed with new colours for many hours afterwards. Around the campfire, Rosa told her story and encouraged others: „Show what’s inside you! Even if you’re unsure, it’s worth a try.“

What do we learn from this?

Sometimes you don't dare to show something. But often everyone is just waiting for someone to make the first move. Everyone can be proud of what they have learned or practised. Rosa Immergrün showed at Willow Bay that there is a special strength in everyone. It's all about believing in yourself and being brave. And in the end, it's a nice feeling to be proud of your achievement.
