How to become a learning champion in Neflental

In the Neflental, the day awoke in soft ivory and May green. The sky glowed a gentle blue, and a touch of gold shimmered across the fern meadows. Rosa Immergrün strolled along the winding Nightingale Way in the early morning. Amidst the blooming hawthorn bushes, the voices of nightingales echoed. Rosa listened as they shared their cheerful chirping with one another and felt ready to learn something new today.

A willingness to learn begins with curiosity

The day before, the mistress of the Neflental had announced that a great knowledge festival would be held on the hill, where the fir trees would glow a deep red in the evening. The animals, the evergreens, and even the white elves were invited. But whoever wanted to participate had to learn a new skill in the afternoon. Rosa Evergreen was excited and a little nervous because she didn't know if she could do it. But she wanted to try. Curious, she asked her friend Luna, „What will you learn?“ Luna replied that she wanted to practise drawing flowers. Suddenly, Rosa realised that curiosity is the most important thing when learning.

Here's how to be a learning champion with friends

Together with Luna, Rosa sat down under the tall fir trees. They tickled a bit as they thought about what they wanted to try. Rosa decided to follow the nightingales' songs and try to play the melodies back on her little meadow flute. She knew it could be tricky, but she wanted to give it her best shot. She listened very carefully to the small differences in the birds' chirping. Again and again, she tried, playing new notes; sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But she didn't give up and would laugh when it went wrong. In this way, learning became an adventure, and she had a lot of fun.

Trying things out is important when learning

at midday, the two continued on their way. They met the old jay, who gave them some advice. „Making mistakes means you are daring to try,“ he said softly. Rosa and Luna nodded and bravely continued to practise. The colours around them became increasingly vivid: the May green of the meadows, the sky blue between the pine tips, and the bright gold that flashed through the branches, all contributed to the special atmosphere. As they practised, they noticed that they could help each other. Luna showed Rosa how she could more easily grasp a difficult part of the melody, and Rosa suggested painting a song together. In this way, they learned from each other. They realised that you can often get further together than alone.

Stay tuned and celebrate together

As the sun slowly sank, they climbed up to the hill called Tannenglutkuppe (Fir-Glow Peak). The fir trees now glowed red like fire. The Festival of Knowledge began! Many Neflentalers showed what they had learned. Rosa Immergrün (Rose Periwinkle) proudly played the melody that she had so admired in the morning. Her heart leaped with joy. Everyone clapped enthusiastically. It wasn't a competition, but a celebration where trying things out and persevering were honoured. Rosa felt that learning is most fun when you stay curious, dare to make mistakes and practise together with friends.

What do we learn from this?

You'll become a learning champion by staying open to new things and continuously improving through trial and error. It's good to have friends and stick with something together. Mistakes are also part of the process, as they make you brave and move you forward. The Neflental and its inhabitants show you: With joy, courage, and solidarity, every learning journey becomes an adventure.
