With a willingness to learn towards success – An adventure in the Neflental

In the Neflental, the day begins soft and quiet. The season is called Blossom Watch, and the valley still rests in the morning mist. Between cherry and violet blossoms, which gleam on the mossy trees, little mythical creatures awaken everywhere. Rosa Immergrün (Rosa Evergreen) also slowly stirs, as fine dewdrops gather on the spiderwebs, sparkling in pastel pink, lilac, and pearly white. She loves this time, when everything seems so peaceful and magical.

A special task awaits

On this day, there is something particularly important for Rosa Immergrün to do. She has heard that the magical Shadow Gate, a large black basalt arch, needs help. Only at sunrise does a golden beam of light pass through it, leaving a luminous trail on the ground. But this morning, the beam of light is missing. Something is wrong, and the Shadow Gate appears sad and quiet.

Rosa Immergrün senses that she needs to find out what's going on. But she doesn't know how to tackle the task yet. She's never done anything like this before. Perhaps she needs new skills – and a whole lot of courage.

A willingness to learn opens new paths

Instead of being afraid, Rosa Periwinkle sets off. She wants to learn what she can do. First, she visits the wise periwinkles on the fern meadows. She asks how the basalt arch actually works and why sunlight is so important. The periwinkles explain to her that it sometimes happens: when the flowers in the valley grow particularly fast, they block the light for a brief moment. Then someone has to carefully push the flowers aside.

Rosa Immergrün has never done this before, but she listens carefully. She thanks him and continues her walk through the emerald-green valley. Along the way, she practices how to gently lift the delicate cherry blossoms with her hands – without harming them. She realises it's not that easy at all. But she is slowly getting better and better.

With perseverance, you will reach your goal.

When Rosa Immergrün arrives at the Shadow Gate, she already sees the large, luminous trail that the golden ray usually leaves behind. Today, it still remains dull, as many branches and blossoms are in the way. Rosa Immergrün begins to arrange the flower stems as the evergreens have taught her. She is careful not to offend any flower. It takes quite a while because so many blossoms are standing in the way. But she doesn't give up.

A few mythical creatures, lurking in the shadows, watch her with curiosity. Some hide, others offer advice. Rosa Immergrün is delighted by their help. She learns something new every moment. The cobwebs in the dew glisten, birds chirp, and finally the path is clear. Then the first sunbeam falls through the shadowy gateway. The golden glow dances across the ground and the track begins to shine. The dawn brightens and everyone rejoices.

With a willingness to learn, to success in Neflental

Rosa Immergrün would never have managed it if she hadn't been willing to learn new things. She asked, she practised, and she kept on trying. She didn't give up, even when things got difficult. In the end, she was able to solve the problem, and the whole of Neflental now sees how important a willingness to learn and perseverance are. Because Rosa Immergrün wanted to learn, the magical gate is shining again with a golden light.

What do we learn from this?

When we learn something new, we become stronger and braver. We can achieve a lot if we keep practising and asking questions. Sometimes it takes patience or help from others – but with a willingness to learn, we will reach our goal. And perhaps a magical ray of sunshine awaits us in our own lives too, at the end of a difficult path.
