The term micro-investments originates from the fields of crowdfunding, finance, and digital marketplaces. Micro-investments mean that people can invest in various projects or companies with very small amounts of money. Previously, you often needed substantial starting capital or had to be an expert to participate in the financial market. With micro-investments, this is now possible with just a few euros.

A typical example: It is possible to invest in sustainable energy projects or start-ups, for instance, via special apps or online platforms – and this for as little as five euros. You select the most suitable project and deposit the desired amount. This way, you can spread your money across several projects and minimise your risk.

Micro-investments make investing accessible to many people who otherwise wouldn't have had access to it. They are particularly interesting for beginners and offer the opportunity to gain experience in the financial market step by step. Thanks to digitalisation, such investments are easy, transparent, and often even possible in real-time today. Micro-investments therefore contribute to more people being able to participate in the opportunities of the modern financial market.
