Part 01: Introduction

It is basically a frightening figure that was recently published. A whopping 75 percent of all teams are inefficient and not working successfully. However, as the business world has changed significantly compared to then, and business communication has increasingly shifted to the „virtual“ office, the most important tools of which have become video conferences, Skype usage, and chats, it is all the more important for today's leaders to be successfully trained in so-called Management 2.0.

It is part of the essential remit of social media and management leaders to lead by example and as motivators, remaining calm even under deadline pressure and adverse technical circumstances. Leadership and management, regrettably, are still too often separated in the business world, and yet social media and management are becoming increasingly important!

Part 02: Management for Leaders as Key to Success!

To operate the future-oriented Management 2.0 optimally, technology alone is no longer sufficient. Rather, there must be a manager who is proficient in it, knows how to use it, and can foster the right approach with employees.

The key to success here is the right management for leaders in virtual teams. If leaders and management are fully familiar with the technical realities and also take the lead as competent supervisors on social media and in managing employees, the team's motivation noticeably increases.

Part 03: Yesterday's thinking must be discarded!

It is immensely important to let go of „yesterday's thinking“ and be open to treading new paths. Management for leaders has become an important foundation in new media, as a leader today must be seen not just as a superior, but rather as a coach for the entire team.

In Management 2.0, leaders' soft skills are in demand, precisely that ability to be trained in social media and management simultaneously. Unfortunately, many companies have not yet come to this realisation and therefore, the classic departmental manager, who is trained in key figures etc., is still being promoted.

However, today's modern leader is not yet everywhere catered for in executive management.

Part 04: Social skills must be versatile in Management 2.0!

The demands placed on leaders in modernly managed companies have shifted, such that there are now a multitude of social competencies that superiors must possess. They must be leaders and managers in one person; social media and management also fall into this category.

To modernise a company, management for executives in this area is therefore also part of it. This is not problematic, because this talent, to be an executive and a manager at the same time, can be taught. Management 2.0 – this means uniting social media and management and thus being a trustworthy supervisor to the team.

When supervisors act as both leaders and managers, they can strike the right balance between being a mediator and an advocate for the company, thus not being perceived merely as the „disliked“ boss. This noticeably boosts team morale and associated job satisfaction! However, statistics clearly show that around two-thirds of all managers in Management 2.0 are still insufficiently trained and therefore represent either leadership OR management, but not leadership AND management.

However, this inefficiency can be very effectively addressed with targeted management for leaders, which will ultimately have a noticeable impact on business success!
