Patience leads to success in the Neflental

In the heart of the Neflental lies a special place: the Fern Meadows of Immergrün. Here, between giant bracken ferns, many green houses grow. Sometimes, in the morning dew, they sparkle like tiny gemstones. During this time, the Blossom Watch reigns in the Neflental. The entire valley floor is still shrouded in mist, while on the gnarled trees, pastel pink cherry blossoms and lilac-coloured violet blossoms awaken. Fine spiderwebs glisten everywhere in the pearly white dew. The mythical creatures creep quietly through the grass, and everything looks mysterious.

A long morning in the fern meadows of Little Puddleton

On a special morning, Rosa Immergrün was determined to be the first to collect the fresh cherry blossoms. Because all the Immergrüns were waiting for the cherry blossom tea, which only tastes good during the blossom vigil. Rosa had already crept out of her house early. It was quiet everywhere, and only a soft whispering went through the valley. The houses of the Immergrüns shimmered between the fern stalks, like little colourful clouds of emerald green and pastel pink.

On her way to the trees, Rosa Immergrün walked past John Immergrün's house. She gave a quick wave and crept on. From the house's roof terrace, she could see the glittering lake of the Flossians. It still lay quiet in the early morning light, with only a few water droplets sliding from the fern leaves into the water. Everything was peaceful, but Rosa was impatient. „When will most of the blossoms finally open?“ she wondered. She was absolutely determined to pick the most beautiful bouquet for the grand blossom festival today!

Patience can sometimes be difficult

Rosa Immergrün hopped from one foot to another, repeatedly looking at the delicate blossoms. Some were still tightly closed. The first rays of sunshine were making them wake up, one after another. But it was taking ages! She really wanted to pull at the petals to make it go faster. „Why does everything take so long?“ she sighed softly.

Then John Evergreen hurried over and laughed. „Patience is a virtue, Rosa! The best things take time. Watch how the blossoms slowly open. Then you'll feel the joy twice over!“ Rosa nodded, though it was difficult for her. So she sat down under the mossy branches and waited. Again and again she gazed at the shimmering colours and inhaled the sweet scent of the blossoms.

With patience to the goal – and great joy

After quite some time, the cherry blossoms finally opened wide. In the pastel pink haze, they looked magical and beautiful. Rosa Immergrün, together with her friends, carefully picked the most beautiful blossoms. Now the time had finally come – waiting turned into joy! She felt how proud she was to have remained patient.

Together, they brought the blossoms back to the fern meadows of Immergrün. Here, they prepared a delicious tea for everyone. As they laughed together, they realised that time and patience are rewarding. Those who wait and remain kind often experience the most beautiful moments much more intensely. The blossom vigil in Neflental was especially radiant today. Rosa Immergrün now knew: Those who reach their goal with patience enjoy the result all the more!

What do we learn from this?

Patience leads to the goal means it’s not bad if something takes time. Sometimes the best things in life aren't ready immediately. If you wait and remain kind, you can look forward to the outcome. Patience makes you strong and helps you to make everyday life more colourful. And, like the periwinkle, you might suddenly see entirely new beautiful things and can be even happier about them later!
