One of the biggest criticisms of Big Data analysis remains data protection. This must, however, also be questioned within the framework of Industry 4.0, as in this context we must speak of data volumes that far exceed the imagination of today's users. The concern of some data protectionists about "transparent customers" can also be applied to companies in this context. However, the "transparent company" is a misleading term in this regard, as companies are consciously availing themselves of technical tools.
In contrast, customers are often completely unaware that data such as their postcode is used for market research or other purposes. However, monitoring employees at the workplace could be more problematic. This is because in Industry 4.0, employees are also a factor that can have a positive or negative impact on ideal production. How the human factor will find its place in Industry 4.0 technology is therefore a question that only time can answer.
