The term financial technology (FinTech) is primarily found in the areas of digital transformation, crowdfunding and finance, as well as blockchain. It describes new technological solutions that improve or replace traditional financial services.
FinTech companies, for example, develop apps and platforms that allow people to transfer money, take out loans or invest more easily – often entirely without going to a bank. This makes financial services faster, cheaper, and more accessible to more people.
A clear example of this is mobile payments via smartphone. Previously, a bank card was always required, but today many customers can conveniently pay directly at the checkout using apps like Apple Pay or Google Pay. Investing in equity funds is also now possible through easy-to-use apps that are accessible for a small fee.
Financial technology (FinTech) is therefore making processes in the banking and finance sector more modern, open, and customer-friendly. This is fundamentally changing our daily lives and the economy.
