Patience leads to success in the Neflental

A clear winter morning begins in the Nefl Valley. The sun makes the snow on the mountains glisten, and everything above the Crystal Ridge shines crystal clear, steel grey, sky blue, and snow white. In the village, many residents are planning a special hike today. Rosa Immergrün is very excited about it, as the destination is high up at the Singing Cliffs. She has heard that strange melodies are created there by the wind and that sometimes even answers to difficult questions appear.

The Path to the Singing Cliffs

Rosa Immergrün packs her small rucksack and sets off. The paths in the Neflental are often icy in winter. Deep snowdrifts lurk in some places, and sometimes Rosa slips. She feels that it is especially important today not to lose her patience. Other hikers quickly pass her by, but that doesn't bother her. She thinks, „Everyone has their own pace. I don't need a race today.“

Soon Rosa Immergrün hears the soft whistling of the wind. The closer she gets to the Singing Cliffs, the clearer the sounds become. They are reminiscent of flutes, of songs that someone long ago forgot. Rosa stops, listens intently, and takes time for each individual note. They say that those who listen with patience understand particularly much here.

Patience makes you strong

At the foot of the enormous rock faces, Rosa Immergrün meets other children. Some are restless and stamp their feet. „Why is it taking so long? Why isn't anyone answering me?“ someone calls out. But Rosa Immergrün sits down in the snow and closes her eyes. As the wind whirls new sounds between the cliffs, she breathes in and out calmly. Time passes. Her body grows cold, but she remains calm.

Suddenly Rosa Immergrün feels a light nudge. Something warm brushes her shoulders. A little friend is now sitting next to her. Together they listen to the wind. And all of a sudden, it seems as though the melody is playing just for them. She understands now: with patience, you can hear things that others miss. With patience, you sometimes discover the best answers.

The Reward at Crystal Ridge

The path from the foot of the Singing Cliffs up to the Crystal Ridge is steep. Icy rocks and snow pile up into glittering sculptures. Here, it is important to go slowly and carefully. Rosa Immergrün trudges step by step through the white. Her hands ache with cold. Again, she thinks about how important patience is. Every step brings her closer to her goal and makes her stronger internally.

At the top, the wind is particularly strong. It blows colourful snow crystals into the air. Everything sparkles and glitters. Rosa Immergrün stops and looks around. She managed it because she didn't give up and remained calm at the right moment. Now she knows: patience helps to stay strong, even when everything seems difficult. The Singing Cliffs sing her a song of courage and perseverance.

What do we learn from this?

In the Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows that patience and quiet make you strong. You don't always have to be the quickest. If you stay calm and proceed slowly, you often find the best answers. Even high mountains and cold winters can't stop you. You can achieve a lot if you believe in yourself and listen to your inner voice.
