With determination towards the dream: A story from the Neflental

In the Neflental valley, the glorious high begins. The sun sparkles in rich gold and amber over the wide meadows. The rivers glitter like dancing sparks. Many friends sit on the banks of the lakes. They celebrate the glorious high with cheerful songs. Lanterns drift silently through the mild evening air. Everything is colourful: sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green gleam in the summer splendour.

Rosa Immergrün sits on the fringe of the revellers. She dreams of one day passing through the Shadow Gate. The Shadow Gate is a mysterious archway of black basalt. It looks as if a giant hand made it. Yet, only at sunrise does a single ray of golden light fall through it. The ray traces a luminous path on the ground. Whoever follows it is said to find a hidden treasure.

The Great Wish

Many say that reaching the Shadow Gate is impossible. The path leads through dense fern forest and past rocky ravines. But Rosa Immergrün doesn't give up. She wants to see the golden path of light. She knows that perseverance makes you strong. So she decides to try it the next morning.

She can hardly sleep that night. Her thoughts are racing. Perhaps the path is too long? Perhaps fear lurks in the shadows of the tall trees? But then she thinks back to her dream. She says to herself: „I can do it if I go step by step.“

The brave departure

As the first rays of sun caress the valley, Rosa Immergrün sets off. Friends wave to her by the lake. They shout: „Good luck! Don't give up!“ This makes her cheerful and brave. She runs off, towards the sun. All around, the day begins in splendour and light.

The woods are full of golden gleam and cheerful birds. Sometimes Rosa Immergrün stops and listens. Then she carries on, even if the path looks stony and difficult. She thinks: „With determination I will go further!“

The magical light

Hour by hour, Rosa Immergrün walks towards the dream. The sun rises higher. Soon she spots the Shadow Gate. The black basalt arch appears enormous and mysterious. A golden ray of light does not yet pass through it. Rosa Immergrün is tired, but she waits patiently. Her determination does not let her give up.

Suddenly the sun breaks through. A single, golden ray of light hits the ground. It paints a glowing path. Pink Periwinkle bravely follows this light. On the other side, she finds a small, sparkling crystal. It glitters like the sun on water. The treasure is small, but significant. It is the treasure of her own strength.

With determination to the dream

Rosa Periwinkle returns happily to the valley. The friends cheer and listen to her story with excitement. They understand: With determination, everyone can achieve their dream. It's important not to give up along the way. Obstacles are part of it, but step by step you reach your goal.
