Peace in the Neflental: A Sparkling High at the Crystal Lake
In the Neflental, the day begins in the time of the Glory Height. The sun gently caresses the fern meadows, making crystalline rivers shimmer in gold and amber. On this special morning, Rosa Immergrün walks along a narrow path to the Water Lily Bay, a quiet inlet of the Crystal Lake. The large, round leaves float serenely on the water. Delicate white blossoms open their crowns to the sun, while colourful fish dart back and forth beneath the surface. Iridescent dragonflies dance in the warm air, weaving fleeting rainbows from light and colour.
On the shore of the Water Lily Bay, the inhabitants of the Nefel Valley gather. Today is the Grand Shine Festival. Everyone celebrates the sun, the water, and the colourful lanterns that will later float silently over the lake. Fine delicacies await on benches, and music sounds cheerfully across the water. Rosa Immergrün is already looking forward to the water ball game, which is about to begin.
Why humility becomes important at the lily pond
The competition at Crystal Lake is about to begin. Everyone wants to win, and many spectators are cheering on their friends and family with delight. Rosa Immergrün also wants to show off just how well she can jump and catch today. She practiced for a long time in the Fern Forest yesterday. But on her first attempt to snatch the colourful ball, it slips through her fingers and plops into the water with a splash. The others giggle softly, and Rosa Immergrün feels her cheeks grow hot. She's a little annoyed, but she doesn't give up.
In the next round, she manages a great jump. The crowd cheers. But then Rosa Immergrün sees a friend slip and fall into the water. Rosa Immergrün immediately runs over to her, helps her up, and asks, „Are you alright?“ She gives her a smile, and everyone sees how kind she is. The others clap and nod. Even though Rosa Immergrün loses a ball again shortly afterwards, she is content. For her, something else counts now besides victory – she is happy that she could help.
Celebrating together in shining glory
In the evening, everyone sits around the campfire. The shore of the lily pond is bathed in emerald green, sapphire blue and coral red. The dancing lights reflect on the small waves. Pink Periwinkle and her friends tell each other funny stories and nibble on fragrant herb biscuits. Suddenly, someone exclaims: „Let's launch lanterns!“
Rosa Immergrün is crafting a lantern out of colourful leaves together with the others. She helps the younger ones without showing how skilled she already is. She realises: It's not about being the best, but about being kind and helpful to one another. As the lanterns rise at dusk, everyone feels connected. Each light in the sky is a reminder: True strength is shown in humility and modesty.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, there are many ways to be powerful. But whoever remains humble and modest like Rosa Immergrün gains true friends and experiences more joy. You don't always have to be the best. Because when you help others, your heart grows, and everyone celebrates with you. In the end, the light from the lanterns shines on everyone, and everyone feels: humility is really cool!
