Crowdinvesting is at home in the areas of crowdfunding and finance, digital marketplaces, and digital transformation. It describes a modern form of investment where many people invest together in a project or company. In contrast to traditional investment, even small amounts are accepted. This allows private individuals and small investors to participate and put their money into interesting ideas.
When you opt for crowdfunding, you buy – usually online – a small stake in a company or project. In return, you later receive a financial share of the profit, for example in the form of interest or a portion of the company's success.
A clear example: A start-up develops a new app but doesn't have enough money for implementation. The team presents the project on a crowdfunding platform. Many investors contribute small sums each. If the project is realised and becomes successful, all investors benefit from the returns.
Crowdinvesting is therefore a modern way for companies to raise capital, and for investors to participate in promising future ideas with manageable risk.
