1. Phase: The honeymoon period
I believe everyone knows that phase: a new job, with something new and exciting to learn every day. It's fun to take on these new tasks. During this phase, commitment and enthusiasm are at their highest, and the first signs of stress are often seen as temporary obstacles that can be overcome with sufficient work. Thoughts like: „I'm not that fast yet, but I'll get faster over time. Then I'll manage everything.“ However, this is also the time when there's an opportunity to intervene early and prevent a long-term burnout process.
Signs of the honeymoon phase
- Strong commitment to personal career
- Strong commitment to the company's professional endeavours
- a high degree of drive
- Normal working hours are exceeded considerably on a daily basis.
- Many report feeling more satisfied and willing to work longer to achieve their goals.
However, precisely this early zeal can, if unchecked, lead to an overwhelming burden that is ultimately unsustainable. One puts oneself and one's own needs behind the needs of the company and its goals.
miReiki-Method to prevent Burnout
To avoid burnout, it is enormously important to become consciously aware during this phase that your own needs and health are not being neglected. As the founder of miReiki, I primarily recommend the following three methods to reduce the dangers during the honeymoon period and avoid burnout:
Reiki for energetic balance:
To maximise your energy flow, start early with a morning routine miReiki treatment. 15 minutes is sufficient. Reiki can promote the body's natural healing process and assist with restoring emotional balance, both of which reduce stress levels.
Essential Oils:
Apply essential oils to strengthen yourself emotionally.
Peppermint oil can boost mental clarity and increase your energy levels.
Bergamot oil can help reduce stress and improve mood.
Lavender oil is good to use before sleeping, as it can reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality.
Yoga
Regular yoga can be helpful in calming the mind and strengthening self-awareness. These exercises can not only help reduce stress but also develop self-awareness and the perception of boundaries.
