With confidence, everything is possible in the Neflental.
In Neflental, everything was preparing for the longest night of the year. The frost night had arrived. Everywhere, hoarfrost sparkled on the bare branches, and even the air felt crystal clear. The fern meadows of Immergrün lay beneath a blanket of silver-white. Between the enormous bracken, the houses of the Immergrüns shone like tiny stars in the mist. Only now and then could a shadow be seen darting through the snow.
Rosa Immergrün knelt on the roof terrace of John Immergrün’s house, gazing across at the glittering Flossian lake. Countless stars sparkled in the sky, so bright they bathed the snow-capped peaks in a mysterious midnight blue. A distant, ethereal bell chime echoed from the depths of the valley, reminding Rosa why she couldn't sleep on this frosty night.
Every year on this night, the shining starlight appeared above the Crystal Lake. The elders told that only the brave, who followed their hearts, would get to see the magical light. Rosa felt that she had to find her own way this night. But a quiet doubt gnawed at her. „Will I really manage?“, she thought, pulling her jacket tighter around herself.
In the stillness of the frosty night, Rosa heard the crunching of the snow. Suddenly, the wind rushed through the fern meadows, making the bracken dance. Each snowflake on the ground glowed for a moment. Rosa stood up and felt her courage grow – like a spark penetrating the darkness.
Without hesitation, she trudged through the snow, past the shimmering houses of the Evergreens. Each step felt as light as a feather, even though the frost crunched under her feet. The air was filled with anticipation. Rosa didn't know exactly where her path would end, but she trusted the stories told in the fern meadows of Evergreen.
Rosa stopped at the edge of the crystal lake. The water gleamed smoky grey and silver white, as if the moon itself had touched it. The snowflakes falling on the surface left behind little, luminous memories. Each one reminded her of brave decisions and kind gestures from past winters. This gave her courage.
Suddenly, a small wave appeared from the water, as if the lake itself had given her a sign. Rosa heard the ringing of the bell more clearly. She took a deep breath and whispered: „I trust my heart. I will find my way.“ At that moment, a silver ray broke through the clouds and was reflected in the crystal lake. The light was warmer and stronger than anything Rosa had ever seen.
Rosa placed her hand on a particularly large bracken fern. She felt the power of the Evergreen fern meadows, which carried her through all doubts. She knew now: with trust, anything is possible. Courage grew within her, and with every breath, the path became clearer. Even though she couldn't see the future, she recognised: the first step always begins with a spark of trust.
She slowly made her way home. Each step left tiny impressions in the glittering blanket of snow. The light remained as hope in her heart. When Rosa stood on the roof terrace again, she knew: Anyone who has the courage to trust will find their own, radiant path through the Neflental – no matter how dark and cold the frosty night may be.
What do we learn from this?
In the Neflental, every frosty night shows: even when the path seems difficult, courage and trust grow with every step. If you listen to your heart, a completely new path will open up for you. With trust, truly anything is possible!
