This is how you always stay yourself in the Neflental

In the Neflental, the Sun-Feather Valley awoke to new life on a fresh spring morning. Golden-feathered birds sang everywhere in the trees, their songs sounding like a cheerful promise for the day. The sky glowed a delicate blue, while the meadows shimmered in May green. The blossoms of the hawthorn bushes gleamed elfin-like in ivory, and sunbeams danced in bright gold across the valleys.

On one of the soft paths – the Nightingale Trail – Rosa Immergrün strolled. Roses liked to walk along this winding path, because here the nightingales chirped high up in the branches. Their song sounded both quiet and loud. Rosa listened closely because she loved the language of birds and wanted to understand what they were singing.

On the Nightingale Trail

As Rosa Immergrün continued on her way, she met Mara Flossianer. Mara swirled water around her toes and said that everyone should try to sing like the gold-feathered birds – then everyone could sound the same. “Perhaps today we should pretend to be completely different!” Mara shouted cheerfully.

But Rosa Evergreen thought for a moment. Every day was different in Sunpetal Valley. Yet she felt most comfortable when she could just be herself. She thought of Nightingale Path. The nightingales never sounded like sparrows or ducks. They always sounded like themselves. She liked that. So Rosa Evergreen stood still and looked at Mara.

This is why authenticity is important in the Neflental

In the Sunfeather Valley, there were so many colours, sounds, and smells. No tree was like the other. The hawthorn bushes smelled different from the fern meadows. The lake sparkled differently from the streams. Pink Periwinkle sensed that there was a great secret in all these differences. Everyone was unique. Everyone let their own light and melody shine into the world.

“Mara,” said Rosa Immergrün, “I want to sing today as I was born to. If I try to sound like nightingales, I won’t succeed. But I can sing my own song. That’s much better, because it’s mine!”

Be brave yourself

Mara thought for a moment and then laughed. Mara understood: whoever you are, you bring a unique song into the world. A joyful, colourful concert now sounded in the Sunfeather Valley. The birds, the wind, Mara, even the stream – everyone sang and gurgled in their own way.

At the end of the day, the colours of the Nefel Valley shone particularly brightly. The May green of the meadows, the gold in the birds' feathers, and the blue in the sky – everything seemed much more intense when no one was pretending and everyone was simply themselves.

What do we learn from this?

In the Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows us how important authenticity is. You are wonderful just as you are. Every child and young person in the valley has their own colours, their own voice, and their own unique sparkle. If you always stay true to yourself, you can let your light shine the brightest. No one is like you – and that’s a good thing! Together, everyone in the Sonnenfedertal creates a song that sounds more beautiful than any other.
