„Last-Mile Delivery Robots“ primarily belong to the categories of robots, eCommerce and digital commerce, and automation. They are small, mostly self-driving robots used for delivering packages or groceries on the final stretch to the customer. This last section of the route – the so-called „last mile“ – is often the most time-consuming and expensive.
The robots drive autonomously on pavements, avoid obstacles and deliver orders right to the doorstep. They are usually equipped with cameras, sensors and GPS so that they can find their way and navigate safely around people and obstacles.
For example, supermarkets in a city can use last-mile delivery robots to deliver shopping to households within a few hours. Customers then receive a message via an app when the robot arrives and can easily retrieve their goods from the robot.
The use of such robots saves time and costs, and helps to reduce delivery traffic in cities. Thus, last-mile delivery robots not only improve customer service, but also contribute to more modern and efficient logistics.
