The term „robot fleet“ primarily belongs in the categories of automation, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as robotics. A robot fleet refers to a group of several robots that perform tasks together and in a coordinated manner. These robots can communicate with each other and coordinate their processes to work together particularly efficiently.

An everyday example of a robot fleet can be found in modern warehouses: there, several small, autonomous vehicles drive through the shelves, fetching goods for dispatch. While one robot transports a pallet, another simultaneously stacks boxes, and a third scans the products. The robot fleet ensures that no machine waits unnecessarily, but rather that each one knows exactly which task is next. This makes processes much faster than with only a single robot.
