Writing an article is not just about putting thoughts into words and then typing and writing them. You need to capture your reader's interest and keep them reading. To get your message across, you need to grab the reader's attention, pique their interest and make them curious. The most important ingredient in writing an article is a large dose of creativity. While creativity comes naturally to many people, there are those who have writer's block or something similar that drives them crazy. Many writers have literally pulled their hair out when they've had writer's block and just couldn't get their creative juices flowing. There is an art to turning words into images in the reader's mind. Clear and sharp exposition requires a certain flair that can only be achieved through creativity. Similes and metaphors are very helpful, but the way an article is woven word by word, sentence by sentence and then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article. So what should you do if you can't think of anything? There's no surefire way to come up with the perfect ideas, but there are simple ways to get your creativity flowing. No one can guarantee you'll have the perfect mindset, but many methods can help you achieve that mindset. Here are five simple ways to do it.

Always carry a diary or journal with you.

Ideas can be triggered by anything you hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar for finding great ideas. Write all ideas down in a journal and keep it with you for reference. You can also write down anything you've read or heard. The ideas of others can be used to build on your own ideas and this is not theft. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it is the execution of the idea that makes it unique.

2) Relax and take your time to sort things out.

A muddled mind cannot make space for new ideas. Everyone needs a clear head if they want to let their creativity flow. Clear out any hindrances that might get in the way of your creativity. If something is bothering you, you cannot force your mind to stay focused. Try to relax as often as possible and reflect on your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences shape your mindset and your opinions, which may be reflected in your writing. Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Find out what inspires you and what excites you. You can use these emotions to express yourself and your ideas, thereby becoming creative.

3) Create a workspace that stimulates your creativity.

Your workspace can be quite a hindrance if you don't feel comfortable and relaxed there. Creativity arises when you are in a good state of mind. A messy workspace that distracts you is not exactly conducive to your creative flow. Surround your workspace with objects that make you happy and relaxed. You can hang pictures or scents, objects that inspire you, or anything that boosts your creativity. A clean and well-organised workspace also eliminates distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a good workspace, you can work in peace and won't even notice how time flies.

4) Set the right mood.

To create the right mood, you need to immerse yourself in the moment or engage with whatever comes to mind. By figuring out how you tick, you can find ways to get your creativity flowing. Set the pace for your mood, and everything else will follow. There are many ways to influence mood. Some writers are known for using alcohol, a small sip of wine, to stimulate the imagination. Some desire atmospheric music, others let the lighting of the environment create the mood.

5) Go on a trip and just do something 'unverrücktes'.

When you let yourself go and have fun, adrenaline is released, which fuels your imagination. Embark on an adventure or a celebratory hike. Whatever it is that deviates from your daily routine can take the tedium out of your schedule. In no time, your creativity will harness this experience and have your imagination running wild.
