What does true loyalty mean? A story from the Neflental
On a cold spring morning, as the first crocuses peeked through the last of the ice, Rosa Immergrün set off. Winter still had a firm grip on Neflental, but the sun was already showing a little more courage. Rosa Immergrün was determined to reach the Violet Clearing. There, so the stories went, a special play of light was supposed to illuminate the ancient statue in the centre today.
The Way to Mirror Pass
But before Rosa Immergrün reached the violet clearing, her path led across a dangerous trail: the Mirror Pass. The pass was so slick with ice that it reflected the blue of the sky like a mirror. Every step had to be taken carefully. Rosa Immergrün slipped, but always caught herself again. The cold air tingled on her skin, making her alert.
Suddenly, Rosa Evermeadow heard soft voices behind her. It was her friends: Efi the little water gnome, Buchus from the beech forest, and Little Pebble from the mountains. They were calling for Rosa Evermeadow because they too wanted to see the spectacle in the violet clearing. Together they now stood before the smooth mirror pass. Efi was trembling all over because she was afraid of slipping.
Friends help one another.
Rosa Immergrün knew exactly how to make Efi brave. „Don't worry, we'll go together and hold on tight!“ shouted Rosa Immergrün. The friends formed a chain so that no one lost their grip. Buchus, who was the strongest, led the group.
Halfway along, Steinchen suddenly stumbled. But before she could actually fall, Rosa Immergrün grabbed her hand firmly. Efi and Buchus immediately helped. Together they pulled Steinchen back to her feet. It wasn't easy at all and cost them all a lot of effort.
True Loyalty in the Neflental
Rosa Immergrün felt that true loyalty is more than just friendly words. True loyalty means not abandoning friends, even when things get tough. Each of the friends was there for each other today. They laughed when they had solid ground beneath their feet again. No one felt alone. The bond of trust held them together.
The magical light on the violet clearing
At last, Rosa Immergrün and her friends reached the Violet Clearing. The purple and yellow blossoms shone like a grand spring picture. In the centre stood the statue, its face covered in moss. Sunbeams struck its stone eyes. They sparkled in a mysterious pearl grey. The friends sat down in the grass, gazed on with delight, and told each other stories.
The colours surrounding them were vibrant: violet, sunshine yellow, leaf green. Together in this special atmosphere, everyone felt what true loyalty is. It means always standing up for each other, whether on the slippery Mirror Pass or in the warm light of the Violet Clearing.
What do we learn from this?
Rosa Ever-Green and her friends showed how important unity is. True loyalty makes friendship strong. When you have someone who helps you, or whom you can help, you are never alone. Together you can overcome any challenge, even when it's difficult at times. In the end, a warm light awaits – and your friendship shines brighter than anything else.
