The term „Attention Mechanism“ originates from the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. It is one of the key technologies that enable modern voice assistants, translation systems, and even image processing.

Simply put, the attention mechanism helps an AI keep track of large amounts of data and focus on the truly important information – similar to how a person filters out and remembers the important parts of a conversation. Without this mechanism, machines would have to treat all data equally, which can often lead to inaccurate results.

Imagine you're reading a long text but only looking for the most important bullet points. Your brain automatically jumps to relevant words or sentences – that's exactly what the attention mechanism does for artificial intelligence, for example, when translating texts or analysing large amounts of data. This allows the AI to work more precisely, is less „stumped“, and delivers significantly better results.

Attention mechanisms make AI applications more powerful and reliable – a crucial factor as to why they are increasingly used in everyday life today.
