With gratitude, change the world: The Neflental celebrates a dazzling wedding
In the Neflental, a special day begins in a glorious glow. It is the time when the sun shines like a giant amber in the sky, showering every corner of the valley with gold. Colourful lanterns float above the crystal-clear rivers and small lakes mirror the warm light like dancing sparks. The revellers wear cheerful clothes in sun-gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green. Friends and neighbours sit around the bonfires on the riverbank. They tell each other stories, laugh, eat fresh bread and, most of all, enjoy listening to the dragonflies glittering in the light.
The old owl watchtower at the edge of the woods
Close to the revelers, the owl family watches from a gnarled tree stump on the edge of the forest. This owl watch has existed for many generations. The owls observe the proceedings and know that magical things can happen on this special night. Rosa Immergrün has a custom of visiting the owl watch before every new task. She listens to the mysterious "hoo-hoo" of the old owl, who is a symbol of wisdom for all the inhabitants.
Rosa Evergreen and the Twinkle Festival
On this day, Rosa Immergrün wants to change something at the Glanzhoch. She notices that many friends are very cheerful when celebrating, but some also look sad or sit alone by the lake. Because she wants to make the world more beautiful, Rosa Immergrün is looking for an idea. She remembers how grateful she herself is for the sunny days, the sparkling lakes, and her friends.
Rosa Immergrün gathers wildflowers in sunshine gold and coral red. She weaves them into small wreaths. Then she goes to each campfire and gives a wreath and a smile. Rosa Immergrün says, „Thank you for being you. Thank you for making the valley so colourful.“
Many residents are surprised because not everyone is told they are important every day. A girl from the lakebeams: „Nobody has ever thanked me like this. What a beautiful moment!“ The owls at the lookout wink in agreement. Their soft hooting sounds like praise for Rosa Immergrün.
Gratitude plants joy
In the evening, the wreaths grow into a colourful chain that encircles the big bonfire. The children and young people dance around it. They shout: „Each of us makes the Neflental special!“ Rosa Immergrün notices how gratitude leaps through the whole valley like a spark. Many smile at each other. Sadness melts like snow in the summer sun because everyone feels how good it is to share good things.
The Owl's Teaching
As the moon flashes, Rosa Immergrün settles down with the owls on the Owl's Perch. The oldest owl says with a warm look, „True strength lies in being grateful for the small things.“ Rosa Immergrün nods and understands: With gratitude, everyone can cultivate kindness until the entire valley shines with it. From the peak of glory until the next winter, this strength will accompany everyone.
What do we learn from this?
In the Neflental, gratitude transforms a day into a grand celebration full of warmth. When you express thanks to others, you change the world around you. Everyone can start with small actions: a smile, a kind word, a few flowers. Gratitude is like a light that leaps from heart to heart, making everything more beautiful, no matter how dark it may seem.
