In der Robotik nutzt man sie, um v\u00f6llig neue Bewegungs- und Verformungsf\u00e4higkeiten bei Robotern zu erreichen.<\/p>\n<p>Im Gegensatz zu traditionellen Robotern aus festen Einzelteilen kann ein Roboter aus Metamaterialien flexibel und gezielt seine Form ver\u00e4ndern. Das erm\u00f6glicht zum Beispiel Greifarme, die sich an die verschiedensten Gegenst\u00e4nde anpassen \u2013 von runden B\u00e4llen bis zu empfindlichen Gl\u00e4sern.
